Srinagar, November 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have said that Kashmir is an international dispute as has been recognized by UN resolutions, and needs to be addressed accordingly. The leaders in their statements issued in Srinagar, today said, internationally recognized status of the Kashmir dispute is an established fact and there is no doubt about it.
India’s August 5, 2019 illegal and unilateral moves can’t change the fact that J and K is not New Delhi’s internal matter but an international issue, they added. The Hurriyat leaders pointed out that India’s hegemonic mind-set was stopping it from accepting that J and K was a disputed territory. They added that New Delhi’s August 5, 2019 actions were in contravention of the UN resolutions.
The leaders urged the International community to take notice of Indian illegal authoritarian moves vis-a-vis Kashmir and put pressure on India to honour international commitments on Kashmir. It is high time for the UN to accept its responsibility for helping to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the world body’s resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people, they said.
