Under the directions of IG Punjab Inam Ghani, speedy operations against anti-social elements continue across the province

Lahore, December 28, 2020 (PPI-OT): On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, operations against anti-social elements are in full swing across the province and crackdown on notorious criminals, illegal arms holders and drug dealers has been intensified. In this regard, Dera Ghazi Khan Police under the leadership of DPO Omar Saeed Malik took significant measures for the arrest of anti-social elements during the month of December which resulted in a considerable reduction in the crime rate in the district and overall Law and order situation has also been improved.

Last month, police teams worked hard and used modern technology to maintain law and order in the district. DPO Omar Saeed Malik said that zero-tolerance policy against anti-social elements and proclaimed offenders is continued and in this regard, 83 Cases registered against illegal arms , in which

83 cases of illegal arms registered, 13 Kalashnikovs, 04 rifles, 76 pistols / revolvers, and 4003 bullets and cartridges recovered. During the ongoing campaign against anti-social elements, (36) drug cases were registered in which (141.135) kg of Charas, (241) liters and (105) bottles of wine were recovered from the accused. (7.560) kg of cannabis was recovered during the month of December (52) proclaimed offenders were arrested. Cases were registered in compliance with the laws enacted under the National Action Plan, 2 cases for violation of Loud Speaker and sound act.

During this period, huge amount of money has been recovered from gambling by registering (06) cases. After tracing the gang involved in robbery and robbery, the accused involved in various gangs were arrested and Rs. 448500 lakhs were handed over to the original owners in the form of 13 motorcycles and recovery stolen from the accused.

DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Omar Saeed Malik further said that the performance of Dera Ghazi Khan police in the month of December has been exemplary while surprise visits of various units including police stations are being carried out to further improve the performance of the police. He further said that making the police a friend and helper of the people is one of his top priorities and there is a zero tolerance policy on corruption and misuse of power.
