Vaccination drive moving towards its goals in Punjab: Imran Sikandar Baloch

LAHORE: With the special efforts of Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Imran Sikandar Baloch, the province-wide vaccination campaign is successfully moving towards its goals.

The special SOPs have been issued for various sectors in view of the growing situation in Corona across the province. A new record of vaccination across Punjab, a record number of vaccinations are being carried out on a daily basis. There are currently a total of 636 vaccination centers in operation. Vaccination campaign is successfully underway at all vaccination centers in Punjab province. In the last 24 hours, a total of 520,085 people have been vaccinated against corona virus in Punjab, bringing the total number of vaccines being administrated so far in the province to 40,022,574. Whereas 53,833 vaccines have been administrated in provincial capital Lahore during last 24 hours taking total tally to 5,492,967.

During the last 24 hours, 1,295 new cases were reported from across the province. So far, the total number of cases has reached 418,197. Besides, 382,179 patients have fully recovered in the whole province, bringing the total number of active cases to 23,701. In recent 24 hours, 14 deaths are recorded in Lahore whereas 28 deaths have been reported in Punjab, while the total number of deaths has reached 12,317. During the last 24 hours, 18,399 tests are conducted making a total of 7,126,783 tests.

During last 24 hours 676 positive cases were reported in Lahore, 95 in Rawalpindi, 87 in Faisalabad, 68 in Multan, 57 in Rahim Yar Khan, 35 in Sheikhupura, 28 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 25 in Gujranwala, 23 in Sahiwal, 21 in Bahawalpur, 20 cases in Mianwali, 15 in Sialkot, respectively 13 cases are reported each in Kasur, Toba Tek Singh and Sargodha, 12 in Okara, 11 in Jhang. 9 cases are reported each in Chiniot and Rajanpur, 7 in Gujrat, Jhelum, Nankana Sahib and Pakpattan, 4 cases are reported each in Hafizabad, Khanewal, layyah , Mandi Bahauddin, Muzafargarh and Vehari respectively, 3 in Khushab and 3 in Lodhran.

Yesterday, the overall positive rate of corona was recorded at 7% in all cities across the province, while the three-day average positive rate of 11% was recorded in the provincial capital Lahore, 7% in Rawalpindi, 11% in Faisalabad, 7% in Multan and 5% in Gujranwala.

While Talking about ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive, Secretary Primary Secondary Healthcare Department said that, “Frequently increase corona case in Punjab is a matter of concern. In such epidemic conditions, vaccination is the only and effective treatment against corona.” He further added, “It is Pleasant that a large number of citizens are increasingly participating in the vaccination campaign – there is no shortage of vaccinations anywhere in the province. There is ample stock of vaccines at all centers while the future more vaccines have been ordered to meet the needs. “Citizens are urged to immediately vaccinate all people over the age of 15 and ensure implementation of SOPs so that we can return to normal life.”
