Following a distinguished 40-year career, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdul Sattar today formally retired from the Islamabad Police, only to have his expertise immediately tapped for a new role within the department’s Investigation Wing.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, met with the retiring DSP to commend his extensive service. The IGP paid tribute to Sattar”s professional competence, integrity, and unwavering dedication, presenting him with an honorary police shield.
The police chief remarked that officers like Abdul Sattar are a significant asset to the institution, having established elevated standards of justice, lawfulness, and public service throughout their careers.
To continue benefiting from his experience and abilities, the IGP announced that Sattar”s services would be utilized to bolster the Investigation Wing of the capital”s police force.
A separate farewell ceremony was convened at the SP Saddar Office in honor of the retiring officer. The event was attended by SP Saddar Zone Kazim Naqvi, alongside various Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and other law enforcement personnel.
Addressing the attendees, SP Naqvi acknowledged that retirement is an inevitable part of a career in law enforcement. He highlighted that Sattar served the police organization for a long time and emphasized the importance of all personnel striving to perform deeds that bring honor to their names and leave a positive legacy.
The SP Saddar Zone added that the veteran officer had spent a valuable portion of his life serving the public, and in return, the institution provided respect, dignity, and a position for which one should be grateful.
