A distinguished group of 11 Test cricketers, including fast bowler Wahab Riaz and former captain Salman Butt, are set to participate in the first-ever Foundational Biomechanics Course, an initiative by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) beginning this Thursday.

According to an official report today, the two-day programme, held at the NCA with backing from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is a pioneering effort aimed at integrating modern sports science into cricket coaching and player development frameworks.

A total of 27 individuals will attend the landmark session commencing on December 4. The curriculum is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the kinetics and kinematics involved in batting, bowling, and fielding.

The educational workshop combines theoretical concepts with practical application, intending to furnish attendees with the necessary tools to enhance player performance and mitigate injury risks.

Instruction will be provided by a team of experts including Dr. Mian Muhammad Awais, Dr. Imran Abbas, and Shahid Aslam, alongside other NCA coaches.

Other former international players registered for the course include Abdur Rehman, Aizaz Cheema, Ashraf Ali, Humayun Farhat, Ijaz Ahmed Jnr, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Salman, Syed Wajahatullah, and Zulfiqar Babar.
