Islamic Tehreek Pakistan (ITP) has confirmed its decision to participate in the upcoming elections of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), prioritizing the region’s development and public aspirations. Allama Dr. Shabbir Hassan Meesami, the party’s Central Secretary General and Chairman of the Political Election Committee, strongly rejected rumors circulating regarding any external demands.
Dr. Meesami said today that if successful, ITP intends to play a significant role in the true development of Gilgit-Baltistan in the next five years. He highlighted the commitment to public rights, improvement in education, enhancement of living standards, and rehabilitation of infrastructure across the region.
Amidst ongoing discussions with other political organizations, ITP is reportedly striving to select the best representatives to advance these objectives. Dr. Meesami strictly rejected all speculations, emphasizing that ITP has neither made any specific demands from other parties nor will it accept any conditions beyond the welfare of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He appealed to party members to ignore unsubstantiated claims being spread by careless individuals. Instead, he asked them to vote for candidates supported by Quaid-e-Millat Jafaria Pakistan and Representative of Wali Faqih, Allama Syed Sajjid Ali, to ensure their success and enable ITP to contribute meaningfully to the development of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Looking ahead, Dr. Meesami indicated that ITP is also planning efforts to foster awareness and responsibility among the nation’s youth. In this regard, he praised the commendable work of Jafaria Youth Pakistan, especially their activities carried out in Nagar.
The party expects Jafaria Youth Pakistan to expand its efforts in youth training and national character building, extending its beneficial programs from Nagar to all parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
