Winter’s first rain poses threat to crops, severity of cold increases

The first winter rain in Badin and its adjacent areas has created severe concern among local farmers, who fear that this rain may endanger the recently sown sunflower, melon and other seasonal crops.

Farmers today expressed the fear that the rain could harm the nascent plants, potentially adversely affecting the overall yield of this season.

The rain, which was accurately forecasted a day earlier by the Meteorological Department, abruptly ended the unusual heatwave ongoing in December.

After the rain, icy winds began to blow in the area, causing a significant drop in temperature and an increase in the intensity of the cold, which completely changed the prevailing weather conditions.

In addition to agricultural concerns, the power supply also remained suspended for several hours in various areas with the onset of the rain, causing difficulties for the residents.
