’Women on Wheel’ program launched in Bahawalpur for women’s safety during travel

In a significant development aimed at strengthening the security of female passengers, Bahawalpur Police on Monday inaugurated the “Women on Wheel” program, a first-of-its-kind initiative for the southern Punjab region.

The scheme was formally inaugurated by District Police Officer Muhammad Hassan Iqbal.

The primary objective of the program is to ensure the safety and protection of women during their movement and travel on public highways.

It was stated that this local-level implementation is in line with the broader provincial policy of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, which is centered on enhancing the protection of women.
