ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo said on Tuesday that work on the Reko Diq project would formally begin on August 14, 2022.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta, he said that Balochistan had 25 per cent share in the project. The chief minister went on to add that the province would earn $1 billion from the project annually, while 7, 500 people would get jobs. “Giving jobs to the locals in the project will be our priority,” he assured.

Bizenjo informed that the provincial government had allocated $700 million for social welfare projects. He disclosed that the project would continue for 40 years.
