World Bank Delegation underlines need to cover storm, water drains and stop residential sewerage flow into nullahs

Karachi, October 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): The World Bank Delegation has underlined the need to cover the storm, water drains and stop residential sewerage flow into these nullahs. A four member delegation on Thursday visited Nullahs and storm water drains in District central Karachi. The delegation was welcomed by DMC central chairman Rehan Hashmi and DC Central Farhan Ghani and other KMC officers.

Hashmi on the occasion apprised the media that purpose of the visit of the delegation was to assess the problems in district central. Hashmi told media that they were facing acute shortage of funds from the Sindh government and urged World Bank members to use their offices for the help in this regard.

Hashmi during the tour of district central showed the dilapidated roads, encroachments, haphazard shops and heaps of garbage in the central area. Chairman said we are trying our level best to improve the condition but shortage of funds and machinery is the biggest hurdle to weed out this menace.

Hashmi also showed deep concern over the stray dogs and said we cannot kill these dogs as we have no facility to kill these dogs. The delegation assured the Chairman they would do all possible help and it would be through Sindh government.
