MQM Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the growing energy crisis engulfing citizens, highlighting unbearable power outages during the intense heatwave, with reports of load shedding up to 21 hours daily in some areas.
MQM Pakistan today explicitly declared K-Electric the most incompetent institution, accusing it of being licensed to oppress the residents of the metropolis.
MQM claimed that the utility provider has “crossed all limits of incompetence and hooliganism,” a situation that has seemingly left all government officials “helpless” against its perceived intransigence.
Students preparing for important examinations are facing severe difficulties due to the operational failures of the power company. Worryingly, even areas designated as load shedding-free zones, are reportedly experiencing severe power disruptions from the same power distributor.
MQM further alleged that K-Electric uses accusations of electricity theft as a tactic to cover up its inefficiencies and shortcomings.
The party regretted that consumers in this area, who allegedly pay the highest electricity rates nationwide, are contradictorily being deprived of consistent power supply.
In response to the grave situation, MQM demanded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif immediately address this widespread injustice.
A key demand put forth by the party is the immediate cancellation of K-Electric’s operating license, advocating for its re-issuance to a more capable and efficient power distribution entity.
