Police asked to prepare contingency plan for Eid-ul-Azha

KARACHI:Inspector General of Police Sindh (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Friday directed police officers to prepare a contingency plan for adopting extraordinary security measures for Eid-ul-Azha.

He said a contingency security plan should be devised for Eid that includes the implementation of code of conduct regarding the collection of sacrificial animals’ hides.

The police chief said a contingency plan should have the details for setting up pickets in the city as well as deploying additional police force in the troubled areas and enhancing snap checking through mobile vans and motorcycle patrolling.

The IGP called for all possible steps to ensure coordination at zone and district levels. Foolproof measures should be taken at police station level regarding Eid congregations and collection of hides of sacrificial animals.

The IGP ordered foolproof security measures for mosques, Imambargahs and Eidgahs so that the lives of the citizens could be made safe.
