SHC summons CM, health minister in competency test case

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued notices to Chief Minister of Sindh, health minister, chief secretary and others on a petition against the competency test in health department for the appointment of officials.

A two-member bench of the SHC heard the plea filled by Nawaz Mallah of Doctors Forum and sought reply from respondents till 17th January.

The petitioner stated that competency test is the violation of Supreme Court’s orders and there are apparent directions of the court in this regard.

He stated that competency test was being taken for the posts of director general, director, district health officer, and medical superintend and other officials of BPS 19 and 20.

The court has stopped to appoint non-cadre officers on these services. He stated that the test was taken on 1st December and eligible people would not be appointed after the test.
