Update: Hyderabad saved from terror as 5 men of banned outfits arrested

HYDERABAD: The Law-Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) personnel on Friday claimed to have foiled a terror bid in Hyderabad and arrested five terrorists allegedly working for banned organizations.

In a press conference DIG Hyderabad Javaid Alam Odho said on a tip-off, the LEAs raided a house in Aliabad area and apprehended five members of banned terrorist organizations, who were planning terror attacks in the city.

The accused were identified as Murtaza Abro, Shakil Ghangro, Rafaqat and Aarab Soomro and their mastermind Muzafar Nagaraj.

The DIG further said that Muzafar Nagaraj was trained in India.

The LEAs also recovered three bombs containing 12 kilograms of explosive material, a Kalashnikov and four TT pistols from their possession.

Later, the bombs were defused by the bomb disposal squad.

The arrested suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
