UMERKOT:Deputy Commissioner Umerkot Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon has said that 2,41,660 children under the age of five years would be administered anti-polio drops from 17 to 21 February 2020 across Umerkot district.
A five-day polio eradication campaign in this regard will continue by 21 February 2020 so as to control polio disease in the district, he said while presiding over a meeting in the city to review the arrangements for launching the anti-polio campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the parents should come forward to get their children vaccinated during the campaign so as to save them from being disabled through the disease. He said that strict steps should be taken to bound people who are refusing administration of polio drops to their children.
Assistant Commissioners of four Talukas, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Allahdad Rathore, doctors and large number of par medical staff attended the meeting.
