KARACHI:Sanofi Pakistan and the Diabetic Association of Pakistan (DAP) have collaborated for the sixth consecutive year to bring renowned international diabetes experts to address the “6th International Diabetes Conference” and to share their opinions, insights, perspectives and best practices with healthcare professionals from across Pakistan with the objective of improving outcomes of diabetes management.
Diabetes is increasing in Pakistan at an alarming rate. According to the 2nd National Diabetes Survey of Pakistan (NDSP), 2016–2017, diabetes has reached epidemic proportion and that there is an urgent needed to develop and implement national strategies for early diagnosis and effective management. It further suggested the need for a cost-effective diabetes primary prevention program in Pakistan.
“It is alarming that every fourth person in Pakistan has diabetes1. Sanofi is committed to improving diabetes management not only through its offering of insulins and oral medicines but also through medical educational events, scientific workshops and conferences, such as this one”, said Asim Jamal, General Manager and Managing Director of Sanofi Pakistan.
The 6th International Diabetes Conference will be held next week in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, respectively.
