842 more children hospitalized, one dies in drought-hit Thar

KARACHI: “As many as 47 children out of 132 were discharged from various government hospitals in Tharparkar district after receiving appropriate treatment while 88 children are under treatment. However, a child, although attended timely and extended all the requisite treatment immediately, died after suffering from various health complications, says a report by deputy commissioner Tharparkar district on Sunday.

DC informed that 468 children were also treated in different health facilities functioning under the administrative control of the Sindh health department in the drought-hit district Tharparkar while 374 children were treated on the Saturday in the OPDs of 31 Basic Heath Units and 18 government dispensaries functioning under the administrative control of PPHI.

According to the report, a child, although attended timely and extended all the requisite treatment immediately died after suffering from various health complications.

According to the DC the Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Mithi told that a three months old Asia, who was admitted in a critical condition, died after suffering from a disease called aspiratory pneumonia. Although all the necessary procedure was followed but the infant could not survive.
