KARACHI: The annual cricket tournament, held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church Ground in Saddar Karachi, witnessed exciting competition among 12 participating teams. Organized under the supervision of Rt. Rev. Bishop Fredrick John of the Diocese of Karachi and Balochistan, this year's event was skillfully managed by Komal Gibson, Sharoon John, Alex William, and Ronald Anthony.
The teams competing this season included Anthonians, HTC A, HTC B, Sam Warriors, Mustangs, Central XI, St. Marks Church, Fatimas, Gladiators, Trinity Eleven, Ball Blasters, and Yellow Eagles. After nine days of spirited matches, the tournament culminated in a gripping finale featuring a showdown between Mustangs and Anthonians.
Winning the toss, Mustangs chose to bat first, setting a robust target of 117 runs in 8 overs. Despite their best efforts, the Anthonians fell short, managing only 92 runs. The Mustangs emerged as the champions, winning by a comfortable margin of 25 runs, and were awarded a trophy and cash prize.
This annual event is designed to cultivate sportsmanship and strengthen community bonds by engaging the youth in wholesome activities that promote fellowship and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
