All SHOs to soon get mobile vans

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Saturday instructed concerned police officials to complete the delivery process of allocating police mobile vehicles to all Station House Officers (SHOs) of Sindh Province.

A statement released by Sindh police spokesman, said the IGP took this decision in light of a report submitted by DIG T and T Fida Hussain Mastoi.

IGP said the aim to providing police mobile vehicles to all SHOs in the province is ensuring their immediate access to crime scenes. He said this step will also make the performance of police officials more effective to resolve crime cases.

According to Fida Hussain Mastoi report, in the initial phase, around 108 SHOs of Karachi have already received these mobile vehicles, while the release orders of 84 out of the total 242 vehicles have also been issued on Tuesday for the SHOs of other police ranges in the province.

The IGP has asked his subordinates to speed up the process. It said the SHOs would be provided with mobile vehicles as par their designations.

The SHOs have been directed to prominently display their concerned station’s name and its phone numbers on the mobile vehicles.
