Anti-Quackery teams seals 55 more clinics in a week

KARACHI: Anti-Quackery teams of Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) has sealed 55 more quacks clinics in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad in a week, bringing total number of sealed clinics to 3,629 in Sindh.

The Directorate of Anti-Quackery teams have visited 102 healthcare establishments (HCEs) in a week in Karachi, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad. The teams sealed 55 clinics in this week bringing total number of sealed clinics to 3,629. While warnings has been issued to 31 clinics for non-compliance in this week, total warnings issued till date are 2027 and total 7199 inspections of clinics were done till date.

Separately, the Directorate of Clinical Governance and Training, SHCC, has conducted hands-on training for Primary Health Care Clinics on 21 October 2020. In this training session all clinics of SINA Health, Education and Welfare Trust received training at venue as provided by Jinnah Medical and Dental College, S.M. Sohail Trust. Training was facilitated by Deputy Director Trainings, Dr Zainab Hasan, of the Directorate of Clinical Governance and Trainings. The training was given on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS).

The SHCC Acting CEO S Baqar Raza Rizvi and Director Clinical Governance and Training Dr Raza Kazmi distributed certificates to participant. In the previous quarter, The Directorate has completed trainings of Hospitals, Clinics and Hakeems across all 6 divisions of Sindh.

On the other hand, The Directorate of Complaint has received a total 150 complaints so far out of which 109 complaints are disposed of, 33 complaints are under process while 8 are sub-judice.

Similarly, Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation has received 34 new applications for registration in this week and total number of applications for registration reached to 11,200 to till date.

The SHCC issued certificates were issued to 23 HCEs’ in this week bringing total number of registration certificates issued to 9,820. The SHCC has also issued provisional licenses issued to 434 HCEs till date.
