BADIN:Deputy Commissioner Badin, Dr Hafeez Ahmed Siyal held a meeting with delegation of growers in his office here on Tuesday and assured them of taking steps to overcome persisting water scarcity in the district.
The meeting came after growers called off hunger strike against water shortage and theft. The DC said their legitimate demands would be presented to the Sindh government for their solution.
It is pertinent to mention here that the growers were protesting for many days against acute water shortage and theft by influential lords at different canals.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner also visited district jail Badin. He directed Jail Superintendent Agha Khalique to boost up security of the jail considering the prevailing situation. DC Badin was also briefed about the jail matters. He met with prisoners and inquired about their matters.
