Balochistan CM says decentralization of power to benefit citizens

QUETTA:Chief Minister Balochistan said that believing in decentralization of powers, it would be devolved to Divisions and Districts in order that the fruit of development projects might benefit the masses at gross root level and their problems could be solved at their threshold.

The local bodies system should also be beneficial to the public, he said while meeting with a delegation of District Chairman of Local Bodies who called on him.

At the occasion Provincial Minister for Agriculture Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Department Mir Zia-ullah Langove and MPA Asghar Khan Achakzai were also present.

The delegation apprised the Chief Minister of the liabilities in the head of honorarium, issuance of non-development fund and other problems. The delegation informed that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan that the tenure of local bodies was going to be expired on 28 January, 2018, however, due to non-payment of funds in the mentioned heads, financial burden was upon local bodies.

The Chief Minister assured the delegation that action would be taken in this regard, adding that the representatives of the present local bodies would also be given representation in the committee formed for making amendments in the Local Government Act so that their expertise may be utilized.

Chief Minister said that financially and administratively empowered local bodies could be beneficial for solving the problems of masses.
