KARACHI:Karachi police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four burglars involved in looting 5.5 kilograms from Karachi’s Hyderi Jewellery Market on June 5.
SSP Central during a press conference said the police arrested four burglars, Adeel Manzoor, son of Manzoor Cheema, Waqar Ahmed, son of Saleem Ahmed Khan, Habibur Rehman alias Nadeem Lahori and Samera Habib, wife of Habibur Rehman. SSP said some of their accomplices escaped to Lahore. He said the gang comprises two groups in Lahore and Karachi.
Earlier, the burglary incident happened at a famous jewellery market of the metropolis.
The robbers had entered into one shop and later broke the wall of an adjacent shop for looting the valuables. The robbery was committed allegedly during Eid holidays when the whole market was closed.
Robbers had also cut wiring of CCTV cameras after entering the shop which increased complications to identify the culprits.
