Case registered against attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani

KARACHI:Karachi police registered a case against six unknown persons for attacking prominent religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani in which two people were killed and two others injured.

According to police, FIR number 176 was registered under the clauses of terrorism and attempt of murder.

According to police, Mufti Taqi Usmani, a former judge of the Federal Shariat Court and brother of Mufti Rafi Usmani, and his family survived a gun attack on two cars that left a police guard and a driver dead and two others wounded in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Friday.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Zone Amir Farooqi, police guard Farooq and private guard Sanobar Khan, son of Shaukat Khan, were killed in the attack.
