‘Century’ of petrol rate before Ramzan regrettable: Altaf Shakoor

Karachi:Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman regretting steep hike in petrol price before the holy month Ramzan, said the government is bent to make a ‘century’ by increasing the rate of petrol to Rs108 per liter.

He said to save people of Pakistan from blatant economic exploitation the PTI government should change its thinking instead of changing ministers. He said the PTI had made promises with voters before election to reduce price hike, but after forming government this party has broken all previous records of price hike. He urged the Prime Minister Imran Khan to recall his promises and fulfill his electoral pledges of giving relief to the poor Pakistanis.

Altaf Shakoor said the government is tormenting the poor masses with raising rates of oil, gas and electricity. He said to please the IMF new floodgates of price hike and joblessness are being opened in Pakistan. He said the dictated policies are not in favor of this nation and country. He said due to these dictated policies more and more Pakistanis are being pushed below the poverty line. He said lives of millions of poor Pakistanis are made living hell by these wrong economic policies.

Altaf Shakoor said the ruling elite and their stakeholders are least interested to improve the lot of their poor country fellows. He regretted that every time voters of this country are fleeced and betrayed. People send politicians with catchy slogans to the corridors of power in hope that they would redress their wounds, but these rulers instead of serving them go for their more socioeconomic exploitation.

He said the PDP is playing its role in raising awareness of masses and saving them from cruelties of Waderas of villages and bandits of cities. He said corrupt electables are a cruse for this nation and country and getting rid of them has become inevitable. He said without bringing fundamental changes in our electoral system the same corrupt elite would come in power again and again and go for increased loot and plunder of this nation. He demanded basic changes in electoral system including proportionate electorate so that real representatives of people could be sent to assemblies.
