Choked water lines outside NICVD-NICH torment patients

KARACHI:The choked water supply lines outside National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and National Institute of Child Health (NICH)are causing grave inconvenience to the visiting patients and also hampering movement of ambulances.

The choked water supply lines have doubled the miseries for the patients and medical staff since few days. Around 5000 to 7000 patients visit different OPDs of both institutions each day for treatment and consultation, but stagnant water has created a nuisance to the patients and hampered vehicles’ movement.

The ambulance drivers are also facing great hardships in shifting the patients with cardiac and pediatric requirement in emergency department.

The doctors, paramedical staff and nurses are also facing great hardships due to the choke water lines that need to be cleansed. Administrative Officer, NICVD, Dr Malik Hameedullah, was not available for comments.
