QUETTA: Peace has returned in Quetta and Balochistan owing to sacrifices of police and other security forces. Police officers and jawans defeated enemy by sacrificing their lives. Government would spare no effort to resolve economic and social problems of police and provide them better atmosphere for work.

These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo while addressing a darbar at Police Lines here Saturday.

Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti, MPA Mohammad Khan Lehri, Secretaries, Police officers and jawans attended in large numbers.

Upon arrival Chief Minister was received by IG Police Moazzam Jah Ansari and a smartly turned out contingent of police presented guard of honour.

Chief Minister said the bravery and gallant shown by police in war on terror is praise worthy. Our enemy is very wicked who entices our people against us but owing to sacrifices of our security forces their dirty motives have been foiled.

Quddus Bizenjo said government and people stand shoulder to shoulder with police. Police forces sacrificed its officers and jawans for bright future of this province and the country. Their sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste. He said being chief Minister he assured that government within its resources would take every possible measure for improving police department and resolving their genuine demands.

He said police jawans by fighting attack on church along Zarghoon road with bravery has raised police morale. He paid tributes to police and proved that it would continue to discharge its duty with still bravery and honesty. He said he prays to make country particularly the province cradle of peace and foil enemy’s designs.

Chief Minister made several announcements in is address to the Darbar. These included residential scheme for police employees and families. Upgradation of police employees, relief package for police martyrs and accidental deaths, Resolving funds for providing better medical facilities to injured policemen worth Rupees 50 million, 30 bed hospital, 200 motorcycles for police Eagle Squad, bullet proof vehicles for security of officers, building five rooms at Police Grammar School, six posts of teachers at Grammar school, reorganization of traffic and special branch, improvement of thanas. He also directed that Health department should continue provision of rupees one million to BHQ of police lines.

Chief Minister also listened complaints of police men form other districts and their questions and issued orders on some of them on the spot.
