LAHORE:Vice Chancellor Nishtar Medical College Multan Prof Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and presented him a cheque of Rs 20 lakh for Mohmand Dam fund.

The staff of Nishtar Medical College has donated their one-day salary for the dam fund. The Chief Minister said that construction of the dam was utmost necessary for the future of Pakistan.

“PTI government has moved forward the construction of the dam for electricity generation and for the storage of water as it is a national obligation.”

He said that credit for laying the foundation stone of the Mohmand Dam goes to Prime Minister Imran Khan and everyone should enthusiastically take part in the national cause of construction of the dam, he added.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the previous era of exhibitory development had become a thing of the past and a genuine work was being done for the durable development of the province.

He said that past rulers exhausted the national kitty by following wrong policies but the present government had provided resources on priority basis for public welfare schemes despite the financial crunch.

He said that a huge Ramadan package had been introduced to provide relief to the people in the month of Ramadan. During the previous tenure, pomp and show were exhibited in the name of Ramadan bazaars. On the other side, the PTI government has saved Rs 2 billion by doing away with the culture of ostentatious display of things.

“Various items of daily use are available in Ramadan bazaars at cheaper rates. I have visited Ramadan bazaars and checked the prices and quality of items and also deputed the ministers for the monitoring of these bazaars,” he added.

The huge subsidy is meant for the people and its fruits will be transferred to them. He made it clear that the illegal increase in the rates of essential items will not be tolerated because the provision of relief to the common man is the agenda of the government. He expressed these views while talking to different delegations at his office.
