Edu: (Graduating students from NUST Military College of Signals (MCS) display their final year projects)

Rawalpindi:Graduating students from NUST Military College of Signals (MCS) displayed their final year projects at MCS Open House 2019, held at the College here on Wednesday.

The annual event not only provides an avenue for strengthening liaison between academia and industry, but also facilitates fresh graduates to showcase their projects and skills before industry reps, paving the way for them to enter the competitive markets.

The event showcased projects in the field of Telecommunication and Software Engineering.

Air Vice Marshall Dr Asif Raza (Retd), NUST Pro-Rector Academics, graced the occasion as chief guest. He appreciated the high standard of projects, which were in conformance with the fast changing technological advancements.

He said that the Open House is the culminating point of students’ academic endeavours and speaks volumes of their technical prowess. Earlier, Acting Commandant MCS welcomed more than 150 guests from Industry, Academia and Government.

He said the industry can benefit from the ideas of students, adding the academia-industry cooperation held key to addressing current and impending challenges facing the industry and the society by leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

He applauded the efforts of the faculty in guiding the students and directing their technical efforts to practice contemporary trends in technology.

Graduating students displayed 65 stalls to exhibit a broad spectrum of practically and commercially viable Telecommunication and Software projects.

Leading business practitioners and professionals from corporate industry had established their recruitment booths at the venue. They shared their organisational requirements with the graduating students and conducted follow-up interviews.
