Excise police foils hashish smuggling bid

KARACHI:Excise Police Obauro Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle hashish to Karachi.

During a search at Obauro check post, an excise team, led by Excise and Taxation Inspector Qamar Siyal, recovered 30 kilogram of hashish from a pickup vehicle bearing no KM-6052 and arrested accused Amanullah.

The police impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the accused besides initiating further investigation into the case. While in a statement issued here, Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has congratulated the excise team Obauro and vowed to continue crackdown against drug peddlers.

He also asked officers and policemen posted at the border check-posts to foil all bids of drug peddlers to enter into Sindh and catch them.
