Global science moot on Diabetes at PCMD-UoK from Jan 25

KARACHI:The 9th ANRAP (Asian Network of Research on Anti-Diabetic Plants) International Seminar on “From Plant to Patient: Identification of New Drugs for Metabolic Disorders” will start from January 25 to 27, 2019 at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) University of Karachi (UoK).

Sindh Provincial Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho will inaugurate the international seminar organized by Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), UoK.

ICCBS Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary stated this while presiding over a meeting of the seminar’s organizing committee held at the Dr. Panjwani Center here on Wednesday.

He said that this time ANRAP international seminar was being organized in Pakistan, while the previous seminar of that kind was held in Malaysia in 2015. The international seminar intends to bring the national and international researchers together, particularly from the Asian region, to share knowledge, exchange ideas and research experiences in combating metabolic disorders and other related diseases, he said.

Hundreds of national and foreign experts are expected to participate in the global science event, he said. He said the inaugural ceremony of the ANRAP international seminar will be held on Friday (January 25) at 09:00 am at the Prof. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium of the international center.

Sindh Provincial Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho will deliver an inaugural speech in the ceremony while ANRAP Chairman Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mosihuzzaman, University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan, ICCBS Patron-in-Chief, former chairman HEC, and federal minister for science and technology Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, ICCBS Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Chairperson Dr. Panjwani Memorial Trust Ms. Nadira Panjwani, and Dr. Hafizur Rahman will also express their views on the occasion.
