Historic T20 cricket match in Larkana on Pakistan Day

LARKANA:Additional Inspector General of Police, Sukkur Region, Dr. Jamil Ahmed Siddiqui, has said that era of 90s had returned and the conditions in Karachi were better today than the past for which sacrifices of the police could not be forgotten.

Police faced many challenges, but due to the brave and hard working police officers, all challenges were overcome,” he said while addressing a press conference at local press club here on Thursday. He was accompanied by DIGP Irfan Baloch and SSP Masood Bangash.

He said actions had been taken against crimes and criminals in entire Larkana and Sukkur regions due to which peace was being maintained in both these regions whereas conditions here were very bad in the past. AIGP said that one T20 cricket match would be organized here on 23rd March in connection with Pakistan Day on PCB Ground in which Pakistan’s top cricketers will take part which include Shahid Afridi, Younus Khan, Abdul Razzak, Ahmed Shehzad, Saeed Ajmal, Muhammad Irfan, Imran Nazir, Asif Ali, Muhammad Sami and others.

He said security arrangements had been finalized for the event. In reply to a question, Dr. Jamil said that Daesh threats were present in most of the countries adding if their presence was also proved here, they would be eliminated. He said their roots are in Iraq, Syria, Iran and Afghanistan and they are trying to work here as well. He said terrorist Abdullah Brohi and Hafeez Brohi have already been killed and their network has also been destroyed adding but some miscreants are available who too will be found and wiped out. He said Balochistan border is connected with Afghanistan where large number of terrorist networks are working and according to information through Balochistan mountains terrorists reach Sindh’s katcha areas for refuge.

He said they also supply weapons to the dacoits but intelligence based operation against them is underway. He said if bridges are constructed on suitable places then crime and criminals can be eliminated in katcha areas. He said 39 complaint centers have been established in Sindh out of which 10 are in Larkana and Sukkur regions. He said IGP Sindh has also instructed for revival of community policing.
