IGP takes notice of cop’s murder

KARACHI:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Saturday took a notice of a police sub-inspector’s murder, who was shot dead by an unidentified armed robbers during robbery in SITE Superhighway.

The IGP has sought an inquiry report into the incident from SSP Malir. He also directed early arrest of culprits involved in the killing of police official.

Earlier, two armed robbers riding a motorbike intercepted a 50-year-old Ghulam Qadir, son of Abdul Jabbar, in SITE Superhighway, but he offered them resistance on which the robbers opened fire on him. As a result, he suffered severe bullet injuries and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
