India should learn lesson from Afghanistan: Liaquat

LAHORE:Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the nation has demonstrated unflinching solidarity with the liberation movement of the Kashmiris on February five, and their sacrifices would bear fruit soon.

Talking to a JI Youth delegation at Mansoora, he counselled India to learn a lesson from the defeat of Soviet Union and the US in Afghanistan and grant the Kashmiris their right of self-determination in line with the UN resolution.

The JI Secretary General said that the scenario in the region was changing and NATO and the US forces had been defeated in Afghanistan and the Indian generals, policy makers and leadership was helpless and their narrative was changing. He said that the solution of the Kashmir issue did not lie in oppression and bloodshed and the world community should rise to the occasion and ensure the right of self-determination to the Kashmiris.

He said that the government had failed to solve the problems of the youth, to provide them respectable jobs and also to improve the education system.

The JI Secretary General welcomed the Pakistan Cricket Board decision to retain Sarfraz Ahmed as Captain of the national team.
