MADEJI: A grand jirga was held at Tarai village under the leadership of Azhar Khan Kamario which decided murder of Parwaiz Mirani in alleged police encounter three years ago within the limits of Dhamrah police station of Larkana, sources revealed here on Wednesday.

The jirga imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 million on the policemen. The deceased was resident of Fatehpur locality of Larkana. The heirs of the deceased had also filed a direct application in the relevant court against two DSPs Syed Jani Shah, Ghulam Ali Laghari, SHO Noor Muhammad Jakhro and WHC Altaf Shah Mishwani.

The jirga, after hearing all concerned parties, imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 million on cops which they accepted. The Mirani community people refused to decide the matter with SHO Noor Muhammad Jakhro, sources further claimed.

Inspector Syed Jani Shah told newsmen that decision was made and all parties had accepted it. He denied saying that young man was not killed in encounter, but he died due to illness case of which was pending in the court against them. He said fine amount would be paid to the heirs of the deceased within a week after which they would withdraw case.
