KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Thursday said work and home safety measures holds much importance all over the world; therefore we need to adopt such an effective strategy with regard to safety of our people.
He was talking to a delegation of Worksafe Pakistan led by its president Javed Akhtar that called on him in his office.
Mayor said paramedical staff in hospitals is discharging important duty to provide immediate help to patients in case of any emergency and they must be provided with best training.
He said the firefighters and city wardens also must also be equipped with all necessary equipment and machinery.
He said Karachi is a megacity and its population is more than many smaller countries.
He said we also need to take care of our surrounding areas and ensure cleanliness in and outside of our homes and workplaces. We all can make our megacity clean and green with joint efforts, the mayor said.
