KP: (Special enrolment campaign inaugurated in KP)

ISLAMABAD:A special enrolment campaign to enhance literacy ratio in the province has been inaugurated.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan inaugurated the campaign in Khyber district on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood said the government is committed for the promotion of quality education in the country.

He said launching of literacy campaign from Khyber is a proof of our love for the tribal people. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said eight hundred thousand children will be enrolled in government schools during this campaign.

He said the government will provide scholarships, stipends and financial assistance to the talented students of tribal districts for higher education. He said efforts are underway to provide free education to students from eight to sixteen years of age in tribal areas.
