LDA employees protest non-payment of 18 months salaries

Naundero:On hearing about the arrival of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bhutto House Naundero, the employees of Larkana Development Authority (LDA) reached Bhutto House in Naundero and held a protest demonstration there for payment of their 18 months outstanding salaries, here on Sunday.

They also staged a sit-in near the main gate of the House and shouted slogans in favour of their demands. While talking to media persons, Israr Qureshi, Sadam Shah, Farhan Khuhro, Aftab Lashari and others said that 275 employees had not yet been paid their monthly salaries for the past one and half years due to which their families were starving. They said the PPP Chairman had said yesterday in a meeting with provincial ministers that people of Larkana were close to his heart and ‘we employees of LDA are also attached to his heart’.

They alleged that their several colleagues had died due to non-payment of salaries and many were suffering from different ailments but ‘we are not being allowed to meet Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. They said: “We are always constantly being kept on unfounded commitments that we will be paid salaries through municipal and town committees after merging our services in the local bodies department, but nothing has yet been done.” They demanded release of their salaries without loss of further time or else, they warned, they will launch a vigorous movement for seeking their rights.
