LEAs arrest two banned outfit members in Karachi

KARACHI:Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two banned outfit terrorists involved in several terror activities including Sehwan shrine attack.

DIG East Amir Farooqui and SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur in a press conference said that Malir police in a joint operation with an intelligence agency apprehended two suspected terrorists Furqan Bangalzai and Ali Akbar alias Haji.

The police officials said that the arrested criminals were linked to banned Lashakar-e-Jhangvi group and later joined Daesh.

Citing their crimes, they said Furqan was involved in attack on Sehwan shrine which claimed 82 lives while 383 people were injured in the attack. The arrested accused were also involved in several attacks on security forces in Balochistan, they said.

They said: “Accused Ali Akbar alias Haji was involved in murder of an industrialist in Tipu Sultan police jurisdiction and also kidnapping of a man from Gulistan-e-Jauhar, who was released after receiving 10 million rupees as ransom.”

Meanwhile, IGP Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam appreciated the performance of SSP Malir and his team and announced 500000 cash reward for them.
