KARACHI:Health Services Department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided to activate Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Sarfaraz Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital.
According to the notification, there is severe shortage of surgical professionals, especially in Maxillofacial Surgery in KMC’s health facilities.
It was decided that groups of maxillofacial residents would be posted at Rafique Shaheed Hospital. These residents will be supervised by senior doctors Dr Zahid Ali and Dr Sufyan Ahmed, consultants of Facio-maxillary Department at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, for the OPD and operation theater.
Senior Director Medical and Health Survives, KMC, Dr Birbal Genani, while talking to PPI, informed that Maxillofacial Surgery Department would be made functional very soon at SRS Hospital. He further informed that a surgeon and anesthetist would also be posted at SRS Hospital to resume surgeries in health facility.
