KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said illegal restaurants and other encroachments from the Hill Park have already been removed and such actions will be taken in other parks and playgrounds of the megacity also.
Reviewing ongoing operation against encroachments in the megacity, he said the campaign against encroachments was initiated on the orders of the Supreme Court and it will continue till removal of all encroachments for the port city.
He said complaints are being received about these encroachments and as such encroachers and people using parks and playground for commercial activities are asked to voluntarily stop their activities; otherwise, action will be taken against them.
He said anti-encroachment operation around Empress Market in Saddar will continue throughout this Ramazan to free the whole area from encroachments.
