Karachi: A World Bank team comprising its head Johannes Hans (Senior Agriculture Economist of World Bank) and Abdul Wajid Rana called on Chief Secretary Sindh Rizwan Memon and discussed the proposed “Sindh Water and Agriculture Transformation Program”, on Thursday.
The delegation proposed various options for improvement of agriculture and irrigation system in Sindh. Agricultural imports, exports, subsidy to genuine stakeholders of agriculture and irrigation fields, betterment of the crops of rice, sugarcane, wheat and livestock sector were also discussed.
Chief Secretary Sindh Rizwan Memon maintained that the Sindh Government is improving water system, strategically. He admired the World Bank team for visiting the Sindh Secretariat, and discussed important issues.
Additional Secretary Agriculture Basheer Ahmed Brohi and other officers also attended the meeting.
