Minister: (Govt acknowledges sacrifices rendered by forces in war on terror: Ahsan)

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that the world is undergoing a paradigm shift due to digital revolution and there is need for adopting new emerging changes in the society to achieve the desired targets.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a model police station here on Thursday, he said success of efficient policing depends on acquiring the benefits of the latest trends of technology.

He said the government acknowledges the sacrifices rendered by police and other forces in the war against terrorism. He said police is being equipped with necessary training and tools to cope with the modern day challenges including the cybercrimes.

Ahsan Iqbal said community policing is imperative to attain goals of peace and security in the best interest of country. He said, therefore, the police have to develop linkages with the community. He hoped that Islamabad police will be one of the best police in the region.

He said Islam is religion of peace and love and police have core responsibility to keep a vigilant eye to defeat extremism from the country.

On the occasion, a smartly turned out contingent presented guard of honor to the minister. Ahsan Iqbal also visited different rooms of the model police station and appreciated high morale of the officers present there.
