Karachi:Sindh Caretaker Minister for irrigation, public health engineering, rural development, inter provincial coordination and excise and taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has taken notice of 20-feet wide breach in Begari Canal and 15-feet wide breach in Noj Canal and asked the officers concerned to take immediate measures to cope up with the situation and save standing rice crop.
He also took notice of water shortage in Warah Barrage and Phanwar Branch in District Qamber and the news of selling water by corrupt irrigation officials.
He asked the Secretary Irrigation Sindh to look into the matter and take appropriate action against staff involved in malpractices.
