MQM-L’s SA GROUP behind Abidi’s killing: police

KARACHI:Karachi Police on Wednesday suspected involvement of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s London and South Africa chapters behind the killing of former MQM-Pakistan’s leader Ali Raza Abidi.

SSP South Pir Muhammad Shah in a press conference said that the initial investigation revealed that members of the MQM-London’s South Africa group arrived Karachi prior to Abidi’s murder. He further said police investigation is still under way.

Shah said police investigation team had decided to probe the suspects linked with MQM-London jailed in different cases.

MQM-Pakistan’s Ali Raza Abidi was shot on 25 December 2018 outside his residence in Khayaban-e-Ghazi of Defence by unidentified armed attackers. He was shifted to PNS Shifa Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
