KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday awarded 47-year imprisonment to a ‘street criminal’ after he was found guilty of killing a citizen over offering resistance to him.
The ATC judge found Jawwad guilty of killing one Abdul Ghani in April 2016 when he offered resistance during the street crime. The judge, pronouncing the verdict, observed that the prosecution successfully established its case against the accused beyond any shadow of doubt.
Besides the term, the court also imposed a fine of Rs700,000 on the convict who will have to undergo additional five-year term in case on non-payment.
