Multiple murders in Mehar, bereaved family seeks justice

KARACHI: Recent three murders in Mehar town of Dadu district were like the murder of Naqeeb Mehsud but the government and law enforcement agencies are not taking action and even the main accused nominated in First Information Report (FIR) is yet to be arrested.

This was said by Chandia Council leader Saddam Hussain Chandio while addressing a press conference along with activists of National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) Shireen Asad, Asad But, in Karachi Press Club here on Thursday.

Sadam said his family members Mukhtiar Chandio, Qabil Chandio and Karamullah Chandio were murdered by some armed men on the17th January 2018 in Mehar town of Dadu district allegedly on behest of a Chandio community influential person, who he said was also a close relative of a PPP MP.

He said this man allegedly attacked their residence and ordered his accomplices who, he said, opened indiscriminate firing and as a result Mukhtiar Chandio, Qabil Chandio, Karamullah Chandio lost their lives.

Chandio said that they registered FIR against accused Burhan Chandio, Sardar Chandio and others but so far not arrest was made by the police. He said that they are also workers of the PPP but government and party leadership have not taken notice of the incident. He said he is still getting threats from feudal lords who are backed by some government officials.

Saddam appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Inspector General of police (IGP) Sindh AD Khowaja, and heads of other law enforcement agencies to take strict notice of the incident and dole out justice to bereaved family as soon as possible.
