QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bughti on Saturday said that steps were being taken to improve good governance.
These views were expressed by him while talking to a delegation of Balochistan Civil Service Officers Association who called on him at Chief Minister’s Secretariat under the leadership of President, Balochistan BCS Officers Association, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani.
Bughti said that administrative officers would have to be empowered for addressing the problems of the people, adding that the powers of Deputy Commissioners had been limited only to the affairs of revenue which resulted in problems.
He said counselling of officers was inevitable, adding that merit and ability would have to be prioritised at any cost. He said that it was a bitter reality that principled officers were often being rebuked and most of their service period went as OSD.
He said that junior officers were using political influence for adjustment against senior position, adding that all service groups would have to cooperate with the government for improvement of governance. Speaking on the occasion, President, Balochistan BCS Officers Association, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani said BCS Officers Association stood with Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bughti to avert corruption and irregularities.
