NAB arrests prominent opposition leader Mariam Nawaz

Lahore:National Accountability Bureau (NAB) here Thursday arrested prominent opposition leader and Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mariam Nawaz. Mariam Nawaz was arrested when she came to Kot Lakhpat Jail to meet his jailed father former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Sources said that the NAB had summoned Mariam Nawaz in Chaudhry Sugar Mills money laundering case, but she refused to appear before the NAB and later she was arrested. The NAB also arrested another leader Yusuf Abbas, a nephew of Nawaz Sharif in the same case.

However, opposition parties strongly condemned the arrest of Mariam Nawaz and termed it a dictatorial tactics of the PTI government.
