NAB asked to complete inquiry against Abdul Salam Mendhro, others by 25th

KARACHI:Chief Justice Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday remarked that some people have played havoc with this country and there is a policy of ‘’sell everything’’.

Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh said this while hearing a case pertaining to fraud with citizens in the name of cooperative society.

Director General (DG) Operations National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Tahir Shah and additional prosecutor general appeared on the orders of court.

Chief Justice Shaikh asked that when the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probe in the fake accounts case will e end? ‘’Many Investigation Officers (IO) have been assigned for the JIT,” he remarked.

Every time IOs’ reply is that they are busy in JIT,’’ Justice Shaikh remarked.

DG Operations NAB stated that some officials are given more cases, but we are now trying that NAB inquiries could not remain in pending.

He said that Abdul Salam Mendhro who is required in NAB inquiry, is not cooperating.

The counsel of accused submitted to the court that NAB had fozen the bank accounts of many people without any reason.

At which Chief Justice remarked that people have also played havoc with country. ‘’Even graveyards and footpaths have also been sold,’’ he remarked.

The court directed the NAB to complete inquiry against Abdul Salam and other accused till 25th September. The hearing was adjourned till 25th September.
